Revisiting Dental Paradigms: The Critical Link Between Oral Rehabilitation and Systemic Health

Dr. Miguel Stanley

Dentistry is evolving beyond traditional care, becoming a vital part of systemic health and overall well-being. This lecture explores the direct impact of oral rehabilitation on health, particularly in detecting and treating chronic inflammation—a hidden driver of many systemic conditions.

Participants will gain valuable insights into the latest trends in ceramic implantology, dental lasers, and minimally invasive, biologically integrated techniques. We will also explore cutting-edge advancements in aesthetic dentistry, prosthodontics, and interdisciplinary treatment planning, ensuring a comprehensive approach to complex cases.

With the rise of Digital Smile Design and reverse-engineering methods, achieving predictable, high-quality outcomes has never been more systematic. New materials and digital tools are transforming diagnostics, workflow efficiency, and patient care, opening doors to a more precise and personalized approach.

This lecture will also highlight the principles of Revision Dentistry, addressing how outdated restorations contribute to systemic inflammation and how modern techniques can restore both function and health. By integrating these innovations, any dental practice can evolve into a comprehensive healthcare provider focused on long-term wellness.

From this lecture participants will learn:

  • How oral rehabilitation directly impacts systemic health, particularly through the detection and treatment of chronic inflammation.

  • Latest trends in ceramic implantology, dental lasers, and their role in minimally invasive and biologically integrated dentistry.

  • Cutting-edge advancements in aesthetic dentistry, prosthodontics, and interdisciplinary treatment planning to handle complex cases from A-to-Z.

  • The integration of Digital Smile Design and reverse-engineering cases to systematically achieve optimal outcomes.

  • New materials in dentistry and the evolution of digital tools that enhance diagnostics, workflow, and patient care.

  • How to transform a simple dental clinic into a comprehensive healthcare practice that addresses both oral and systemic health.

  • Key principles of Revision Dentistry, including how outdated dental work contributes to systemic inflammation and how modern approaches can mitigate these risks.

  • Practical strategies to collaborate effectively across disciplines, optimizing occlusion, function, and aesthetics for long-term success.

Networking dinner Friday evening

We believe that a lot of valuable magic happens when we come together for a networking dinner. We create the perfect setting for exchanging experiences, meeting both new and familiar friends and colleagues, all while enjoying a fantastic evening.

That’s why we have organized a special networking event featuring dinner, fun activities, great food, and entertainment.

During the meal, we will introduce DentaNet’s well-known “network switch,” ensuring that you naturally get the chance to meet new colleagues. Additionally, we have planned small, engaging networking games to further enhance the atmosphere and make the evening even more enjoyable.

During the Friday program you can choose to list yourself at the “fixed tables” and choose which people you will spend the dinner with. A lot of people choose not to and will end up at the “networking tables” where you are randomly seated and might get a new friend or perhaps even get the seat right next to one of the lecturers and have the opportunity to pick their brains.

In these surroundings all your minds will be open for new inputs including drinks as well. In other words: We will have a great networking party only limited by the fact that we have to great lectures to attend Saturday.

Saturday Morning

Prosthetic retreatment, the contemporary solutions: Vertiprep and no-post fiber reinforced core for crowns.

Dr. David Gerdolle

Over the last fifteen years or so,vertipreps or preparations for crowns without clear finishing lines have made a comeback. Resurrections of the 'trace' cervical margin of the ancestral crowns with fitted rings, vertipreps or V-preps have logically accompanied the development of a new, highly resistant ceramic, zirconia.

These preparations offer the dual advantage of significant dental tissue savings, as well as unrivalled gingival conditioning and shaping. The icing on the cake is that, by optimizing the ferrule effect, they act in synergy with modern coronal-radicular reconstructions, which are adhesive and have no root posts, thus strengthening residual dental tissue, particularly in the case of prosthetic re-treatment.

Guided by a biomimetic and minimally invasive philosophy, you will during this lecture learn:

Key Learning points:

  • How to remove, or why not remove, existing coronal-radicular reconstructions

  • How and why to create an internal adhesive ferrule without a post

  • How to prepare vertically finished prosthetic margins

  • How to condition gingival tissue using temporary crowns.

Saturday Afternoon

Increasing and Stabilizing Vertical Dimension of Occlusion with Composite Restorations: Anteriors & Posteriors

Dr. Adomas Auskalnis (LT)

Generalized tooth wear, caused by mechanical abrasion, attrition, abfraction, or acid-induced erosion, can lead to a systemic collapse or dysfunction of the masticatory system.

The rehabilitation of all teeth and the entire masticatory system presents a significant challenge in restorative dentistry, requiring specialised knowledge and practice.

Moreover, patients with worn dentition who simultaneously have the highest aesthetic and functional expectations create a real challenge for the entire dental team.

From this lecture you will learn:

  • to address generalized tooth wear by identifying abrasion, attrition,

abfraction, or erosion, and restoring the masticatory system with minimally invasive composite techniques.

  • methods to increase vertical dimension of occlusion using preheated composite materials, guided by wax-ups, CAD-UP, and transparent silicone stents in centric relation.

  • how direct composite restorations transition TMJ dysfunction patients from splint therapy to permanent fixed indirect ceramic restorations safely and effectively.

  • practical composite restoration techniques like “stamping” and “layer-it, stamp-it” for reliable, polychromatic, functional, and aesthetic anterior and posterior restorations.
